VNEWS

Description

VNEWS is an OpenVMS NNTP news reader. It was written in Fortran ages ago and has passed from site to site. It finally lodged with Joel Snyder when he was avoiding writing his dissertation. Although much of the need for a package such as VNEWS has past with the easy availability of products such as Netscape, having your own news reader and the source code is always a nice thing.

Author

VNEWS' origins are shrouded in obscurity, and are best not delved into deeply. Many of the originating parties are sorry that they participated.

Availability and Status

VNEWS version 1.50 is available as a huge backup save set from Opus One.
